Impact of weight on dementia risk

A study presented at an Alzheimer's Association online conference found the risk of dementia was 1.8 times higher after age 70 for women who were overweight between ages 20 to 49. Having a higher BMI after age 70 was associated with a lower risk of dementia for men and women, but obesity during early adulthood was linked to double the risk later in life.
