A study in the journal Gut found that individuals who followed plant-rich diets had lower odds of developing COVID-19 and severe COVID-19, compared with those who followed the least healthful diets.
A diet characterized by healthy plant-based foods was associated with lower risk and severity of COVID-19.
The findings, based on data from 592,000 American and British adults, also showed that this association was particularly evident among people residing in economically deprived places.
