Meta-analysis: Gestational weight gain associated with increased autism risk for children

The offspring of women who had excessive and inadequate weight gain during pregnancy had a higher risk for autism spectrum disorder, compared with the offspring of pregnant women who gained the recommended amount of weight in pregnancy. The findings, published in Obesity, were based on data from five cohort and four case-control studies.
